Leadership Fauquier: 2026-2027 Program Year
Leadership Fauquier is a professional development program for individuals who want to grow in their careers while gaining a deeper understanding of Fauquier County. They learn how our community works, the challenges it faces, and the opportunities ahead.
Through site visits, facilitated discussions, and direct access to the leaders and organizations shaping the community, participants gain practical insight they can apply in their work right away.
The program brings together professionals from business, government, nonprofit, and education sectors to build leadership skills, expand their networks, and develop the knowledge needed to lead effectively in Fauquier County.
Program Experience
During the 2026-2027 program, cohort participants will participate in:
- a two-day opening leadership retreat
- monthly program days focused on key community systems
- workshops to build leadership capacity
- site visits and conversations with local leaders
- a county-wide bus tour
- opportunities for reflection, discussion, and applied learning
Program Days explore areas such as:
- Government and infrastructure
- Education and workforce development
- Housing and economic development
- Health and human services
- Public safety
- Culture, recreation, and human capital
- Natural resources

Attendance is mandatory at the September Retreat Days and graduation in June.

Participants come from business, healthcare, education, public safety, local government, agriculture, and community organizations. Our alumni include people of all ages, experience levels, and demographics.
